Darren has always been a fan of the odd and obscure. As a child, he collected iconic horror movie figures, shock-rock music posters and gruesome album covers that were plastered over his walls and furniture. As he grew older, he took an interest in carving wooden figures. He started to develop his own technique of carving and painting that would eventually lead him to designing Darrionettes.
Darren met Mrs. Darrionette (Julie Moreash) while working in Halifax, NS in 2002 at a ceramics studio. There, the two became close and Darren began to experiment with carving figures, and Julie took an interest in painting them with careful detail.
Today, Darrionettes are available worldwide!
